Widgets for your home screen
Add one in small, medium or large. It shows what is coming next and rolls the number over at midnight on its own, without you opening the app.
Countdown, to-do and notes app
Add a birthday, an exam or a trip, and a cat counts down with you in a scene made for that day.
Android release · v1.0.2
Coming soon · Waiting for App Store review
Coming soon to the App Store. Cat Countdown for iPhone is currently waiting for App Store review. Android scanners open Google Play automatically; iPhone scanners will redirect to the App Store as soon as review completes.
Point your phone camera here to open catcountdown.factor-io.com. Android opens Google Play; iPhone shows the App Store review status.
Live backgrounds
Rain outside, rain behind your countdowns. The background can match the sky, the season, or drift with a little ambient magic, and every cat's scene sits on top of it.
Optional live weather from Open-Meteo: rain, snow, sun, cloud, fog and thunderstorms, drawn behind your cards.
Snow in winter, blossom in spring, sunshine in summer and rain in autumn.
A random pick of starlight, fireflies, embers, hearts, flowers or glitter.
Both themes, with night backdrops that glow in dark mode.
Recorded in the app
Real screen recordings from the app, not mock-ups. Pick a chapter and the phone plays it.
Meet the cats
Each cat has its own breed, colour and personality, plus an animated alarm dance and a pose for every mood. Rename any of them to make them yours.
Calico
The gentle dreamer. Her alarm dance is the one you see when a reminder rings.

Birthdays, exams, trips, anniversaries, due dates, paydays, the last day of term. Pick the kind of day and your cat dresses for it. Tap one to see its scenes.
The art
Every countdown card is one of these. Filter by cat or by kind of day, then open a scene to see the other looks you can choose for it.
The cats are the reason to open it. These are the reasons to keep it.
Add one in small, medium or large. It shows what is coming next and rolls the number over at midnight on its own, without you opening the app.
Every countdown gets its own illustrated cat scene above a big, clear number of days left.
Open a countdown for three tabs: Overview, a Checklist with a reminder on any item, and a Diary for the plans.
Overdue, Today and This week, with a progress ring for the day and a reminder on any task.
Checklists, headings and lists, plus stickers from the cats' own art, emoji, and the cats themselves.
Attach photos to your notes, and files or links to a countdown: the concert ticket, the hotel reservation, the boarding pass. Everything for the day is in one place when you need it.
Set a reminder to ring as an alarm, and your cat rings until you snooze or dismiss it.
When the day arrives, the countdown does not disappear. It moves to History, so you can look back on every day you counted down to.
Light and dark themes, a background that can follow the real weather, and cats you can rename.
No ads and no fees to keep using it. Google Play shows the price in your own currency.
A yearly subscription you can skip. It backs up your countdowns to your own Google Drive, or iCloud on iPhone, so a new phone can pick up where the old one left off.
Restoring a backup you already have is always free.
No advertising SDKs, no Factor IO user accounts, and no behavioural tracking.
Your countdowns, dates, tasks, notes, attachments, and settings live on your phone. Factor IO never receives or reads the content you create.
An optional yearly Cloud Backup subscription writes your archive directly into your own Google Drive or iCloud account. Restoring an existing backup is always free.
Read the full Privacy Statement and Terms of Use for exact details on RevenueCat billing, optional Open-Meteo weather, and Android licence checks.
The whole app, from the countdown cards to the alarm screen.
A countdown app where every date gets a cat. Add a birthday, an exam, a trip or a due date, and one of nine cats appears in an illustrated scene made for that kind of day. Around the art sits a cosy organiser: tasks, decorated notes, alarms and home screen widgets.
You pay once on Google Play and it is yours, with no ads and no fees to keep using it. All nine cats and all 1,000+ scenes are included. The one extra is optional Cloud Backup, a yearly subscription you can skip.
The iPhone and iPad version is waiting for App Store review and is coming soon. The Android version is available on Google Play now.
